RELOAD is a project funded under the JISC Exchange for Learning Programme (X4L). The project focuses on the development of tools that are based on emerging learning technology interoperability specifications. It is managed by the University of Bolton with staff located at the University of Bolton and the University of Strathclyde. The primary aims of this project are to:

  • facilitate the creation, sharing and reuse of learning objects and services
  • enhance the range of pedagogical approaches realisable through the use of lesson plans

These aims will be achieved through the production of a suite of software tools for authoring and delivery of standard-compliant learning objects incorporating comprehensive user guides and exemplar resources. The tools will be of significant value to the JISC and wider community, since they provide the crucial “missing link” which allows users to author and transfer learning objects, in specification compliant format, between authoring and design tools, local and distributed digital repositories, and VLEs.

Microsoft Learning Content Development System (LCDS) The Microsoft Learning Content Development System (LCDS) is a free tool that enables the Microsoft Learning community to create high-quality, interactive, online courses. The LCDS allows anyone in the Microsoft Learning community to publish e-learning courses by completing the easy-to-use LCDS forms that seamlessly generate highly customized content, interactive activities, quizzes, games, assessments, animations, demos, and other multimedia.
http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/exe/wiki The eXe project developed a freely available Open Source authoring application to assist teachers and academics in the publishing of web content without the need to become proficient in HTML or XML markup. Resources authored in eXe can be exported in IMS Content Package, SCORM 1.2, or IMS Common Cartridge formats or as simple self-contained web pages.
ReCourse Learning Design Editor There are many different views on the scope of pedagogy. At the risk of over-simplifying greatly we can identify:

  1. perspectives the nature of learning and knowledge (e.g. approaches to teaching informed by a constructivist view of learning)
  2. methods based on psychology, which set out to specify the cognitive or behavioural changes to be brought about in the learner (e.g. modelling a domain and the state of knowledge of the learner, and providing the appropriate stimulus to move the learner forward)
  3. organisation and coordination of the learning environment and activities (i.e. who does what, when, and how)

ReCourse is a tool which takes the third of these perspectives. It does not concern itself directly with the first two, but obviously they are valid ways of looking at learning and teaching, and may have a strong influence on the activities carried out.

Ουσιαστικά θεωρείται  ένα ιδιαίτερα δυναμικό τμήμα του ISCL (International Society of the Learning Sciences) ή αλλιώς …
